A BOOK BY FELIPE GONÇALVES

Ruta

The book

Born on the road

Ruta was born on the road.

In October 2025, two Brazilian cyclists left the south and headed toward Argentina, crossing Uruguay. What could have been just a trip became something else: a practice of presence and poetry.

This book brings together photographs and poems created along the way. It is not a travel guide, but a record of what happens when we slow down enough to notice what makes life better. The wind against the face. The silence between thoughts. The fatigue that reorganizes the body. The encounters that reorganize the heart.

The landscapes are real. The journey happened. The images were captured along the way. But what these pages truly explore is the inner road: the tension between fear and courage, shadow and light, movement and stillness. Ruta is a reminder that life happens in the middle.

Consider this book an invitation: to move and to find poetry in your own path.

Praise

"Your book is extraordinarily beautiful and deeply moving. It transforms a physical journey into a meditation on presence, longing, and becoming. I wish you a lot of success with the book — and hope you write another of your next journey."

Dr. Solange Charas, PhD

Columbia University

"Stunning."

Ruchika T. Malhotra

National Bestseller, author of Uncompete

"Thank you for your precious RUTA, which I just read, saw and adored. If it's not too much trouble, I'd love a hard copy to display and share in my MIT office. All aerospace engineers need more poetry and reflection — to reach the stars."

Dava Newman

MIT Apollo Program Professor of Aeronautics, Former NASA Deputy Administrator

The authors

Roberto on the road

Roberto

In northern Brazil, the Tapajós and Amazon Rivers come together. It is in this city where currents converge, Santarém, that Roberto was born. In the same way, capturing time through photography has been a passion of his since childhood. Between lenses and shared laughter, he continues to believe that images are ways of helping moments endure.

Felipe on the road

Felipe

The Minuano is a steady wind that blows in southern Brazil. Felipe Gonçalves was born in Pelotas, also in the South, and believes that writing is like blowing that wind into history: leaving traces in the heart while, at the same time, bringing movement and warmth.

Beyond his artistic work, he is active in the business world as a culture and leadership strategist, helping companies build businesses designed to stand the test of time. Between people and words, he continues to believe that every outward journey begins within.
